News from Woodrow and the Neighborhood

The 4th of July serves as an informal reunion for Wildcats. From the parade route to the kegs at Tokalon Park to the fireworks later at Lakewood Country Club you are bound to run into old friends and you will also make some new ones.  See:  http://www.lakewoodparade.com  

The official unofficial fireworks watching site for Wildcats is Country Club Circle - so come a bit before dusk if you want to circulate - way before dusk if you want a parking spot.

While we are celebrating our independence let's also be proud of our Wildcats this year - some selected accomplishments:

--"Fiddler on the Roof" Woodrow's 50th musical sweeps North Texas Cappie Awards

--Woodrow Sports Program ties for 6th in 4-A and has more points than 95 4-A and 5-A schools in North Texas (DMN)

--Valedictorian Matthew George (Yale) and Thomas Simpson (Princeton) make Woodrow the only Metroplex school to send its top two grads to Ivy League

--Mock Trial Team advances again to State Competition

--Randall Park renovations dedicated to Will Winters who would have graduated this year - his initials are "W W" which forms the new shade structure.

--4 Elementary feeder schools named "Best in Texas" by Texas Monthly
